KIDS EVENTS

“We need a few good little Cowboys and Cowgirls”

MUTTON BUSTERS:

The Mutton Bustin’ event is a crowd favorite! Little buckaroos “cowboy or cowgirl up” and hold on to a wooly sheep for eight seconds.

• This event is FREE and each participant will receive a trophy (just pay to get into fair grandstand)
• There will only be 10 riders for each performance (unless otherwise noted)
• The first 10 registered participants will be in performance that meet the requirements
• Registration will begin once event gates open and will close 30 minutes prior to performance starting or once registration is full
• Must weigh 55 lbs or less on date of event and be at least 5 years of age
• Must complete and submit minor release/waiver form and parent/guardian must be present for child to be registered and ride in event
• Must wear jeans/pants, long sleeve shirt, boots/tennis shoes (no slip on shoes or sandals this is arena requirements)
• Must wear a bicycle helmet or other approved helmet to ride (no racing helmets) we do supply bicycle helmets but if you have your own that fits your child please bring. Please return your helmet once your child has ridden
• Riders will be judged on their ride and will listen for the horn at 6 seconds
• Only one parent/guardian allowed inside the arena with your child
• All registered participants that qualify and meet all above requirements will be given instructions by a staff member of Rice Bull Riding Company. Any questions please contact us at 763-389-1399

BOOT SCRAMBLE:

 Cowboy and Cowgirls race to find their boot or shoe at the center of the arena and race back for a chance to win a prize.

 This is event is FREE and each participant will receive a trophy

• There will only be 30 participants for each performance
• The first 30 registered participants will be in performance that meet the requirements
• Registration will begin once event gates open and close 30 minutes prior to performance starting or once registration is full
• Must be ages 8-13 at date of event
• Must complete and submit minor/release waiver form and parent/guardian must be present for child to be registered and participate in event
• Must wear boots/tennis shoes (No slip on shoes or sandals) per arena requirements
• No parent(s) will be allowed in the arena during this event
• All registered participants that qualify will be instructed by staff of Rice Bull Riding Company

 CALF SCRAMBLE:

 Cowboys or Cowgirls gather in a line up in the arena (either in teams or as individuals) while the calves’ with ribbons on their tails are turned out. The objective is to grab the ribbon off the calves’ tail and return it to the Arena official. Once all ribbons are removed the contest is over. The first three contestants or team that turn in ribbons will receive awards but all participants will receive a prize.

 This event is FREE and each participant will receive a prize

• How many participants is up to the producer and/or fair board committee
• All registered participants that are in performance will meet requirements
• Registration will depend on whether team or individuals
• Must be ages 12-16 at date of event
• Must complete and submit minor/release waiver form and parent/guardian must be present for child to be registered and participate in event
• Must wear proper attire: jeans, long sleeve shirt and closed toe shoes (no slips on or sandals) per arena requirements
• No parents will be allowed in the arena during this event
• All registered participants that qualify will be instructed by staff of Rice Bull Riding Company

 FROZEN T-SHIRT GAME:

 This is a crowd favorite and is hilarious to watch. You will want to cheer for each contestant or team that take their frozen solid and scrunched t-shirt and try to unthaw it and put it on (wear it) without using any liquid substance or object.  The first team or individual to successfully wear their shirt will receive an award but all participants or teams will receive a prize.

 This event will be FREE (unless otherwise noted )

• All registered participants will meet all requirements
• Entries will depend on whether teams or individuals and will be up to the producer and/or fair  committee
• There will be different categories (ages 13-16 or ages 17 & up or team/organization) This will be up to the producer and/or fair board committee
• You must thaw your wet frozen and scrunched t-shirt and put it on yourself or (entire) team
• No contestant is allowed to leave the designated judging area once contest begins
• YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO USE YOUR BODY TO THAW THE SHIRT (Remember this is a family friendly show) No liquid substance or any other objects sharp or other will be allowed
• Anyone or team caught breaking any of the rules will be disqualified.
• All contestants will be instructed and will be given a signal to start and when contest  ends
• All decisions of the judges will be final

• Each individual will be required to sign a waiver/release form and if minor parent/guardian must be present at event time to sign
